Recently, we were lucky enough to interview Rebecca Campbell — an intriguing author, inspirational and motivational speaker, spiritual teacher, grounded intuitive mentor and practical intuitive guide — and this is just one of the powerful messages she has to share with our Daily Guru tribe today:
“Trust the niggle. It never goes away. The only way to stop a call is to answer it.”
Rebecca is one of Hay House’s freshest voices, with her book, Light Is The New Black, out in July.
Rebecca teaches internationally and is passionate about helping people connect with their intuition in order to live wonderful lives, both personally and professionally.
Earlier this year, she was awarded the ‘Promising New Talent’ award by the Mind Body Spirit Festival.
And so today we are thrilled to share our interview with Rebecca, where she shares;

Knowing that anything that lights me up and fuels my soul is an investment in my business. I still get the biggest thrill each time I speak to my accountant and tell her why things like lemurian crystals are “necessary tools”. Or I text my Virtual Assistant to say I’m going to be late because I haven’t meditated yet!
Basically, it got too hard to ignore the call. When I was young I had a clear vision of me doing this work but I didn’t know how the heck to make it happen. I saw spiritual teachers as people who were 40 and over and had gone through extreme rock bottoms. As someone who was naturally intuitive, empathic and attuned to channelling, I felt extremely weird and chose to go into a spiritual closet. It’s totally bonkers, but I remember actually praying that bad things would happen to me so I could have my ‘rock bottom’ and get to work.
As the years went on, the call to do this work and be of service got louder and louder. Behind the scenes, the whole time, I was studying intuition, coaching, soul growth, past lives, healing and other modalities. By day, I was forging a career as an undercover light worker — as a Creative Director in advertising.
By the time my Saturn Returns came around, the life I had so consciously created had begun crumbling all around me. It was as if the Universe turned off all the lights so I had no choice but find my own. As so often happens, the suffering happened for me — not to me.
I always knew I was here to do this work — particularly to write about the journey of the soul. My rock bottom was what I needed to answer the call, and once I did, it was game on.
Facing the fear of speaking out and sharing my message. I have done a lot of healing work around this. It used to be my fear that held me back. But after more than 20 years working on it, I now realise my fears are actually a sign that I am facing the right way and that my message and voice is about courage — the courage to answer the call of your soul, especially when it is scary or doesn’t make sense. My teacher Sonia always told me, “If you’re not uncomfortable, you’re not growing,” and so now I aspire to a certain level of uncomfortableness
That you shouldn’t make money by helping people. I believe that we are entering a new time in history where we all need to come back to the work that honours our authentic gifts. When we do the work that we were born to do, abundance will come as we are in harmony with the Universe. For people in the healing arts, this can sometimes be a tough one to swallow. We are, however, moving out of patriarchy where we were rewarded for sticking to the status quo. The pendulum is swinging back into an era of balance — an era of light. An era whereby answering the call of our soul, we harmonise the planet one person at a time.
My teacher and mentor Sonia Choquette. I’d been praying and searching for my teacher for many years. When I met Sonia in London in 2008-09 I got chills from my head to toe and knew she was going to be my teacher.
Trust the niggle. It never goes away. The only way to stop a call is to answer it.
Getting my book contract with Hay House. The moment I took my first Hay House book off the shelf in 1994 I had a vision of me also being published by them. Being so young, I had no idea how I was meant to make that happen and so I spent a lot of my teen years and early 20s hiding out in a spiritual closet. I was disciplined with my spiritual studies, but kept it hidden for fear of being seen as weird. The 20-year journey from that Summer day in Manly, Sydney, to getting the call from Hay House in Marylebone, London, was an epic ride and I felt a great sense of happiness for that 14-year-old girl who always had such a deep desire to serve.
Losing my friend Blair Milan and the ending of my 11 year relationship both happened at the same time, so they were mashed up together. This taught me to discover a place within myself that did not require another person in order to feel love. But it was bloody hard work!
Teleportation doesn’t exist.
Walking in nature.
Not reaching my potential, or being buried alive.
A beach in London.
We have the answer within us.
Walking really, really fast or communicating with flowers.
