An Interview with Sara Brooke

Meditation Teacher Sara Brooke

This weeks #GuruToWatch is a lady who certainly walks the walk of her practices. Sara Brooke is the owner of The Space In Between, a Meditation Teacher, Reiki Master and Soul Embodiment Mentor and she is hugely passionate about teaching individuals the importance of tapping into our biggest and most important power source. Through The Space In Between Sara provides clients with the tools, techniques & teachings which allows each of them to tap into their truth and learn to trust their inner compass to guide their choices.  If you’re seeking deeper meaning and truth in your life – & if you’d love to open and trust your heart more than you do, then this is the Guru to see! Which is why we were so thrilled to sit down with Sara and learn more about what makes her tick and what has been her greatest challenge so far!

The best part of my job is…

Getting to witness the amazing transformations and changes my clients and students go through when they re-claim their personal power, connect to their inner compass and start following their hearts truth.

I chose to enter this field of work because…

I personally went through a huge transformation and healing journey ten years ago when I discovered meditation and reiki. I went from struggling with an eating disorder, anxiety and depression to finally awakening to deep peace, self-acceptance and love. I knew I had discovered deeply potent tools for healing and growth, and was called strongly to share them with others.

The greatest challenge in my career has been…

Learning to let go and trust more. At the beginning of my journey as a healer and teacher I doubted myself and used to try and make things “perfect” to gain approval. I learnt quickly that the more I can get my ego-self out of the way, the more powerful the session. I learnt to trust and allow nature’s divine intelligence and wisdom to flow through me.

The funniest misconceptions about my industry/company/brand are….

That as a healer and spiritual teacher I have everything sorted and that I have a “perfect” life. I don’t, nor would I want to. Life is deliciously messy and dirty, a playground for growth, experience and learning. I am in the mud playing like everyone else!!!

The most influential person in my career has been…

Diane Collett, my meditation teacher. Ten years ago she taught me how to meditate and changed my life. She exposed me to so many amazing teachings, methods and processes and it was her who encouraged me to become a meditation teacher and professional healing practitioner. Without her encouragement, I would not have claimed my potential and changed my life the way I did.

If I could give one piece of advice to my 18-year-old self, it would be….

Stop worrying about what everyone else thinks of you. They are never thinking about you as they are too worried about themselves!!

My greatest achievement has been…

Taking responsibility for my life and following my own heart. In doing so I have, amongst other things, created a beautiful thriving business that brings me so much joy and fulfilment each and every day. Not a day goes past that I am not eternally grateful for how I get to earn a living and serve the world.

The greatest personal challenge I have over come is…

Moving through my darker years when I suffered from anxiety, depression and bulimia. I am so proud I had the courage to ask for support in my darkest hour and then attract in some amazing teachers and healers who lovingly helped me reclaim my power and show me that there was a much more beautiful and fulfilling way to live.

I don’t understand why…

People in Melbourne can’t merge in traffic

I try to relax by…

Taking long hot baths filled with delicious smelling essential oils.

My biggest fear is…

Not making the most of this beautiful life

I can’t live without…

Almond milk cappuccinos

I really wish I had…

A time machine, not to go back and change anything but to learn from people in the past and future

The greatest lesson I have learnt is….

To trust divine timing

If I had one super power, it would be….

Flying. I would love to have wings.

If I could invite four people to a dinner party, they’d be…

Ancestors from my past, maybe one from each century! So much gets lost over time I would love to know more of where and whom I came from. To get the opportunity to talk to them face to face would be incredible!
